Abstract

Education is the main foundation in human resource development. Good quality education really depends on teacher competence. The Field Experience Program (PPL) is an important component in the teacher education curriculum which aims to equip students with practical experience in teaching. PPL provides an opportunity for students to apply the theory and skills they have learned during their lectures to real situations in the classroom. However, there are still various challenges in implementing PPL which can affect the effectiveness of this program in improving students' pedagogical competence. Lack of variety in learning will cause students to get bored. This can be seen during the learning process, many students are sleepy so they lack attention to learning. The lack of variety and strategies also makes students passive during the learning process and they have no new experiences during learning. There are many learning models that can be used, some of which are the jigsaw and TGT learning models. Through the 2 models above, the author obtained the results that this method is very effective for increasing students' understanding of material, improving social skills, higher learning motivation, developing critical thinking skills and increasing student activity.
